Individual Therapy
Life can feel overwhelming at times. Stress, anxiety, changes in relationships, work pressures, grief, past experiences, or simply feeling stuck can make it difficult to manage everyday life. You don’t have to navigate those challenges alone.
At North Simcoe Therapy Network, we provide individualized psychotherapy in a supportive, confidential, and non-judgmental environment. Our therapists take the time to understand what brings you to therapy, what is important to you, and what you would like to see change.
How Individual Therapy Can Help
People seek therapy for many different reasons. You don’t need to be experiencing a crisis or have a specific diagnosis to benefit from additional support. Our therapists work with individuals experiencing concerns such as:
- Anxiety, worry, and panic
- Depression and low mood
- ADHD and executive functioning challenges
- Stress and burnout
- Trauma and difficult life experiences
- Grief and loss
- Relationship and interpersonal challenges
- Self-esteem and confidence
- Emotional regulation
- Workplace and academic stress
- Major life changes and transitions
- Substance use and addiction concerns
- Family difficulties
- Identity and personal growth
- Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about what comes next
Therapy Designed Around You
There is no single approach to therapy that works for everyone. Our therapists provide client-centred, individualized care, working collaboratively with you to develop goals and determine an approach that fits your needs.
Depending on your therapist and treatment goals, therapy may incorporate approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and trauma-informed care.
Therapy can provide an opportunity to better understand your thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and experiences while developing practical strategies that can be used outside of the therapy room.
Finding the Right Therapist
A strong therapeutic relationship is an important part of therapy. NSTN’s team includes therapists with different backgrounds, areas of experience, approaches, and personalities.
When you contact us, we can help connect you with a therapist based on your needs, goals, preferences, availability, and financial or insurance considerations.
Accessible Mental Health Support
We believe finances shouldn’t prevent someone from accessing support. In addition to our regular psychotherapy services, NSTN offers low-cost therapy options for individuals experiencing financial barriers. We also have clinicians who are approved providers for programs such as NIHB and MNO, where applicable, and offer direct billing to many insurance providers.
